Privacy Policy

The short version

• We use your songs and photos to make your videos, and nothing else.
• We never sell your personal data.
• We do not use your face to identify you.
• Delete your account and we delete your content.

1. What we collect

A. What you give us

• Account details: your name, email address and profile picture from Google, Apple or email sign-in.
• Your content: songs and other audio you upload, lyrics, photos of singers, prompts, style choices and the videos and songs Muzie makes for you.
• Purchases: what you bought, when, the price and your country. Your card details go straight to the payment provider and we never see them.
• Messages: anything you send us by email or support chat.

B. What we collect automatically

• Device and connection: IP address, approximate country, browser, device type, operating system, language and app version.
• Usage: the screens you visit, the features you use, errors you hit and how long things take.
• Cookies and similar technology: see section 5.

C. Faces and voices

To animate a singer, our AI providers detect the face in your photo and map features such as the eyes and mouth so the singer can lip-sync. To time the video, the song is transcribed and the vocals may be separated from the music. This processing is only used to make the video you asked for. We do not use it to recognise or identify anyone, we do not build face or voice profiles, and we do not keep face measurements once your video is made.

D. Connected assistants

When you connect Muzie to ChatGPT or another supported assistant, you sign in on Muzie and authorize the connection. We store the connection's client identifier, account, permissions and authorization records so its requests can access your Muzie account. Your Muzie sign-in credentials are entered on the sign-in page, not in the conversation.

Muzie receives the requests the assistant sends to its tools, including prompts, selected asset and project identifiers, media URLs and editing instructions. The integration can return your token balance and limits, saved song and singer information, project and scene status, visualizer details, media links and support replies. It can create or edit content and send a support message when you request those actions. We receive the information sent in these requests, rather than automatically receiving your entire conversation.

2. How we use it

• To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• To make, store and play back your videos and songs.
• To take payments, give you credits and manage your plan.
• To answer support requests and billing questions.
• To keep Muzie safe: checking uploads and prompts against our rules, preventing fraud and abuse of free credits.
• To understand how Muzie is used, fix bugs and improve it.
• To send service emails, such as receipts and "your video is ready", and, if you have not opted out, occasional news and offers.
• To measure how well our adverts work.
• To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

We do not use your songs, photos or videos to train AI models.

3. Our legal bases

Under UK and EU data protection law we rely on:

• Contract: to provide Muzie and the things you buy.
• Legitimate interests: to keep Muzie secure, prevent fraud, understand usage and send you service updates, where this does not override your rights.
• Consent: for non-essential cookies, advertising measurement and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation: to keep financial records and respond to lawful requests.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Muzie, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions, and with the payment providers and app stores that process your purchases.

When you choose to use a connected assistant, the tool results are shared with that service so it can answer you. For ChatGPT and Codex, this includes OpenAI. The assistant provider's own privacy policy and your settings with that provider apply to its handling of the information. Media links returned by Muzie can be accessible to anyone who has the link. Visualizers are unlisted unless you choose to publish them; anyone with a visualizer link can watch it and hear its song.

We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

5. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in, remember your settings, understand how Muzie is used, and measure our adverts. When you sign up or buy, we may send Meta and TikTok a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address and the event, so they can tell us whether an advert worked. They cannot read your email from the hash.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and on iOS you can refuse tracking when asked. Muzie still works without advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep it

• Account and content: while your account is open, so you can come back and edit or re-download your videos. You can delete any video or upload yourself at any time.
• When you delete your account: your account, uploads and creations are deleted within 30 days, and from backups within a further 30 days.
• Purchase records: 6 years, because UK tax law requires it.
• Support messages: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
• Fraud prevention: if an account is deleted or closed, we keep a one-way hash of its email address or device identifier. It cannot be turned back into the original, and we use it only to stop the same person claiming free credits again or returning after a ban.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK and EU, including in the United States. When they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses so your data has the same level of protection.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls, and only available to the people and systems that need it. No service is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a breach that puts you at risk we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

• get a copy of your personal data;
• correct data that is wrong;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time;
• unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.

Email muzie@aphvn.com to use any of these rights. We reply within one month. You can delete your account yourself from the settings in the app.

You can revoke an assistant's access from Muzie's Connected assistants settings, or disconnect Muzie in the assistant's integration settings. Disconnecting does not delete your Muzie account or creations, or remove information already returned to the assistant. Use the account and content deletion options above for Muzie data, and the assistant provider's controls for information held by that service.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.

10. Children

Muzie is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent and think your child under 13 has used Muzie, email us and we will delete the account. Do not upload photos of a child unless you are their parent or guardian or have their permission.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when Muzie or the law changes. We will change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we will tell you by email or in the app.
